Nestled within the Collage Food Hall in Bloomingdale’s, this cozy spot combines the bustling energy of a modern food court with the authentic flavors of expertly crafted Japanese-inspired shrimp ramen.
The star of Le Shrimp Noodle Bar’s menu is undoubtedly the Signature Trio Shrimp Noodle, a beloved favorite praised for its rich, umami-loaded shrimp broth that envelops tender noodles. Guests can customize their experience by choosing between thick or thin noodles, allowing each bite to match their personal texture preference. Another standout is the Big Prawn & Braised Scallion Soy Chicken Shrimp Noodle, a harmonious blend of succulent prawns and savory chicken, paired with a deeply flavored broth that showcases layers of seafood sweetness and herbal warmth.
For those seeking lighter or plant-based options, the Veggie Noodle Soup and Veggie Dry Noodles, garnished with fried tofu, bok choy, and bamboo shoots, offer satisfying textures and earthy, clean flavors that balance the menu beautifully. The rice bowls deserve special mention as well, with choices like the Crispy Chicken Garlic Rice Bowl and Garlic Butter Prawn Garlic Rice that deliver bold and fragrant notes in every mouthful.
The dining atmosphere at Le Shrimp Noodle Bar is casual yet inviting, perfectly suited to a quick lunch or a relaxed meal while exploring South Coast Plaza. The service hums with efficiency, and despite its food hall setting, the quality and generous serving sizes never disappoint—one diner delightfully noted the portions could easily serve two, making it great value without sacrificing flavor intensity.
What truly elevates the experience here is the shrimp broth, often described as a fresh and flavorful umami bomb that hits your palate with an immediate yet lingering savory richness. The broth’s depth is clearly the heart of the kitchen’s craft, complemented by fresh ingredients and a touch of culinary finesse seen in dishes like the Long Jing Tea Lava Egg and the Prawn and Chicken Wonton Chili Oil. While some patrons mentioned a desire for a slightly firmer noodle texture to enhance chewiness, the overall harmony of broth and toppings continues to impress loyal guests.
Le Shrimp Noodle Bar promises a balanced, soulful meal that elevates everyday dining into a memorable encounter with Asian shrimp cuisine. Whether you’re fueled by a craving for hearty ramen or curious to explore lighter veggie noodles or garlic-infused rice bowls, this spot delivers authenticity, innovation, and remarkably satisfying flavors with every order.
Stopped by for some delicious noodles. I ordered the Signature Trio Shrimp Broth Noodle, which was highly recommended. You can choose between thick or thin noodles. I chose the thick noodles.
Nice place for a Japanese noodle lunch. The quality and taste won’t dissapoint. It is refreshing and the serving sizes are huge. If you kind of have a small appetite, it’s good enough for 2 people to share.
We stopped in Irvine on our way from LAX to San Diego to feed our baby and grab a quick bite. Near South Coast Plaza, we found a food court at Bloomingdale’s and decided to try a Japanese shrimp noodle spot. We ordered a set meal with wonton shrimp noodle soup, spring rolls, and tea. The shrimp broth was flavorful, but the noodles were just okay, and the prices were on the higher side. The experience was quite chaotic as we juggled our fussy baby, and my husband even spilled soup on himself in the rush. Overall, the service was great, and the environment was nice, but unless you’re specifically craving shrimp noodle soup, there might be better options around.
The shrimp broth tastes really fresh and flavorful. It’s advertised as an umami bomb and they really delivered! I would give a solid 5 if they got the ramen texture right. The noodle is too soft. Adding some chewiness would make it perfect.
The first shrimp broth in the US The rich broth is absolutely amazing! Highlights of the menu: A1 Signature trio shrimp noodle A2 Big prawn & braised scallion soy chicken (thigh meat) shrimp noodle 3. Egg for side dish 4. Veggie for side dish - the sauce is good! A cozy place in South Coast plaza food court. The flow is fast so if you see a line don’t be panic. You can scan QR code for menu and ordering, very efficient system where they can use less labor and convenient. You can choose the thickness of noodles and if you want your shrimp peeled or not. Highly recommended!
The broth here is intense...and depending on your pallet...that could be a good thing or a not so good thing. I love shrimp and the traditional broth was most definitely SHRIMP FORWARD. My husband could smell it was across the table. I think the first sip of the brother threw me off a bit but just ended up really enjoyed it. I got the crispy cod and it was so flavorful. My husband got the dry noodles with cripsy chicken and the noodles were so flavorful and the chicken was perfect. I would recommend trying this place out. The only big downfall is that it is small and there aren't a lot of servers but still worth a try.
I was staying nearby on a work trip, and stopped here one night for a quick after-office bite. The A1 Signature Trio Shrimp Noodle was everything I hoped it would be: brimming with collagen and umami, and studded with shrimp essence. All three types of shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the noodles were deliciously al dente. While I still prefer meat-based broths, I definitely wouldn't turn down a bowl of this in the future. Especially when work is paying for it.
